The Bible teaches that it is man’s fallen nature and selfishness that drives conflict. Because of increasing selfishness, the Bible predicts that “in the last days perilous times shall come.” (2 Tim. 3:1) Jesus predicted these perilous times: “ upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” (Luke 21:25-26) This sure sounds like our day.
God has promised to bring this madness to an end. In Christ’s kingdom, God will pour his spirit upon all flesh. (Joel 2:28) He will write His laws in the hearts of men and cause them to walk in His statutes and keep His judgments. (Ezek. 36:26-27) All people shall know the Lord, “from the least of them unto the greatest of them.” (Jer. 31:34) “They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain [kingdom]: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” — Isa. 11:9
