How was Jesus the light of the world?

When Jesus came at his first advent, the light of his teachings and character revealed God’s plan of salvation for all. But only a few at that time and since then have truly appreciated this light.
In Christ’s soon-to-be-established kingdom, this will change. Satan will be bound for 1,000 years so he can deceive the nations no more. (Rev. 20:2-3) Then God “will turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.” — Zeph. 3:9
“They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” (Isa. 11:9) “And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD.” — Jer. 31:34
Then Jesus will be the light of the world that all men will see.
